Japanese White Sauce

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 Cup of Mayonnaise
  • 1/2 Cup Ketchup
  • 3 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tbsp Paprika
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 Cup of water
  • 1 tsp Sriracha or other hot sauce

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Mix all ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Add extra sugar to taste.
  3. Allow to sit in refrigerator for at least an hour before serving so that flavors can meld.
  4. Whisk the ingredients together very quickly to mix the mayo in thoroughly.

Notes:  This is the white sauce that is served at Japanese Steak Houses. It might also be known as yum yum sauce. It is not a traditional Japanese Sauce.  This is more a Americanized-Japanese fusion sauce and not really served in Japan.
